ted_stevensWhy the major news outlets are covering this more heavily, I don’t understand. During the months coming up to last years election, the media couldn’t stop talking about Ted Stevens and his kickbacks from the oil industry. Of course it was politicized, but rightfully so, the man broke the law. Flash forward, now the DOJ has decided to drop the case based on new information. Apparently the prosecution withheld evidence from the defense. Here is the kicker. The evidence consisted of notes taken during an interview of their key witness, an employee of the oil industry named Bill Allen. What was so important about the notes? Mr. Allen stated the renovations on Stevens chalet cost $80,000, not $250,000 like he said in court. Hah! Once again this proves that in our justice system, who you know is more important than what you did.
