To Paul McKain: Rush isn’t that bad?
Jan 14th, 2010 | By Mike | Category: Republicans |Haiti is in ruins after a devastating Earthquake that affected 3 million people in the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Estimates of deaths are as high or exceeding 100,000 people. In the wake of such a tragedy, Rush Limbaugh decided to tell viewers not to donate money. Does this seem like the type of person you should be taking advice from?
I recently had a feud with the Florida Whig Party (thankfully no longer a part of the MWP) where their candidate Paul McKain thought Rush wasn’t a bad guy. You can read his comments here.
So Paul, my question is, do you still support this bigot?
For anyone interested in helping those who are less fortunate then ourselves, you can text “Haiti” to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the Red Cross . More info on this service here.
This is sad and comical. Only the Modern Whig Party could turn a statement of condolences to Haiti into an attack on the Florida Whig Party and a Retired firefighter who invented a device that stops kids from getting trapped and killed at the bottom of pools.
I will keep in mind that this is from Mike in NY who his own chairman says is not capable of taking care of the responsibility that were offered to him. I believe it was Manhattan area?
You commented how your glad that Florida was no longer part of the Modern Whigs. did you ever know that this blog is what started the steps for Florida to leave the Moderns? You made issue that the people of Florida must have been Republican because they were running 3 candidates against 3 Democratic held districts. Guess after they had two more congressional candidates announce against 2 Republicans that argument went out the window.
There must be no communication in the NY chapter or you would have known that just last Wednesday your state chair Gene was on the phone with Florida begging them to come back to the Moderns and to help him become the next Chairman of the Modern Whigs due to the fact that now Chairwomen Stephens is also resigning.
You must have just figured McKain as the easy target. Well, you made it easy by misquoting him from your own article. I will add it for you .
“For starters, why is Rush Limbaugh such a sore topic with this guy? I get frustrated when someone makes up statistics and then expects everyone to agree. “However, for all the people that love him there are two that hate him.” This goes to the credibility of the writer. I would love to know where he got this statistic. Rush does have the #1 talk show in the country, so he must be doing something right.”
To me it looks like he was pointing out how as a registered Democrat you were very sensitive about Rush Limbaugh. He also pointed out your made up statistics and questioned your credibility as a writer. You never did bother to state where you got your statistics from by the way. I think he then pointed out that Limbaugh must being doing something right based on his ratings. I don’t recall McKain ever stating his support of Limbaugh. Pick up the phone and call him. I’m sure he will tell you what he really thinks of Rush. But your attempted twist was almost worth it.
It must be hard being an activist without even putting your shoes on. I have heard the Moderns described as a “phone book party” I think the correct description should be a “computer keyboard party”
Gene was right about you. You are out there. Even Lebowitz once told me that you were a nut when I contacted him about you.
Okay now I submit this and then you reply with some other reason why Florida is _________. I will let you fill in the blank. You are good at that!
You may have out of staters fooled, but those of us in Marion County who lived through the blowout loss to Sheriff Dean know the real deal. As of November 20, 2009, there were only six registered Florida Whigs in the county. This number INCLUDES Truesdell, his best friend, his employee, and his wife. Marion County has 28 other minor parties with more registrants than the Whigs. For a minor party that boasts being in existance since 2007 and boasting a 100% increase in membership since 2008, I’m sorry pigeon but I don’t think that is going to cut it when you look at the statewide statistics, with Marion County being a good sample as the home turf. In Marion County, the Whigs are at 0.003 percent of the electorate, though they do account for a very high percentage in the Truesdell home. The Sherrif Dean farce could have been won by a competent Republican, especially since most of the constitutional officers in the country are Republicans. Be leery of this guy.
