About

The Daily Whig is a weblog dedicated to reporting on political events in the United States with a Modern Whig perspective. The Modern Whig Party is a reincarnation of the Whig Party of the 1800’s that has been, well, modernized to fit the current political atmosphere. The party was officially revived on February 12, 2008. A fitting date, the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, a one time Whig Party member. The Modern Whigs were primarily founded by American Veterans, but has since exploded in membership with veterans and citizens alike across the nation.

The Modern Whig Party was formed out of necessity for a moderate political party without the polarizing aspects of the Democrats and Republicans. Foremost, the party supports social progression and fiscal responsibility while maintaining mainstream values. The party is adamant in rejecting fringe ideas typical of other third parties, making it an appealing choice for many Americans that are unsatissfied with the current two party system.
